Cycling along the Great Western Tiers

If you are a keen cyclist then Forest Walks Lodge is an excellent base. We have accommodation for up to 8 people in a single group. We cater all meals with quality gourmet food and great Tasmanian wine.
The sealed roads close by are well maintained and almost empty of traffic. There are now a number of signed cycling trails which take cyclists to many of the major sights within the region and provide endless vistas of the Great Western Tiers. An audio tape of the various highlights is available.

If you want cycling challenges then there are several very testing climbs and longer-distance rides in the district – all with the low traffic volumes and amazing views from the signed trails. Undercover space is available for bikes adjacent to each bedroom at Forest Walks Lodge.

Cycle-walking destinations

There are several great bushwalks a cycle ride away including Warners Track and Meander Falls. A particularly challenging day would be a traverse of Quamby Bluff followed by a 25km ride back to the Lodge
