Activities & Experiences
Guided Forest Walks
Our walks are professionally guided by one of Tasmania’s top forest conservation experts. Sean is a great communicator with a passion for explaining the Tasmanian forest environment.
Fly Fishing – Lakes, Rivers and Streams
Fly Fishing in nearby rivers including Huntman Lake, Meander River and the highland lakes. Our own small trout stream boasts plenty of fish in season and there are other streams within the valley for experience fisher people.
We can arrange tuition for beginners and guiding for those who need to know the best locations and flies to use for which season.
Degustation dinner and Food Tour
In keeping with Tasmania’s growing reputation for food and wine we have developed an exciting food experience.
This includes exclusive occupancy for a group of 4 with airport transfers from Launceston, all meals including a 5 course degustation meal, a champagne breakfast and a food and wine tour before returning to the airport.
Local Short Walks
There are several short walks around the property and many more walks along the Great Western Tiers. Warners Track, about 5 minutes drive, takes you into the World Heritage Area and is a 5 to 6 hour return walk. From the top of the track you can see about one third of Tasmania on a clear day. We can provide you with a packed lunch if you decide on this option.
Forest Weddings
If you would like a natural forest setting for your special day to share with family and friends we have a wonderful ferny glade that is perfect in the warmer weather. A short 5 minute walk from the Lodge it is easily accessible for most people. We can also offer refreshments and other infrastructure for less formal wedding situations.
Yoga Classes
Classes at Western Creek Yoga Studio on Mondays and Thursdays from 10.30am-12 noon. Mats and blankets supplied.
